Bio

Holly Whiteside’s coaching career began in 1990 as a life coach, and then took new expression in 2007 as a caregiver’s coach. As a change agent she is an Eden Alternative Associate, a long-term care Ombudman, and is on the board of the New Hampshire Coalition for Culture Change. She is currently developing the Eldercare Whole Health Alliance for The Lotus Healing Arts Foundation, bringing alternative healing to the residents of the Elder communities of Newburyport, Massachusetts.

As caregiver for her mother from 1996 to 2006, Holly applied to herself the life coaching principles she had been teaching others, thereby inventing MindfulCaregiving, a survival toolkit for caregivers. She shares these tools in her book, “The Caregiver’s Compass”, a handbook for emotional balance. Her memoir, “Exploring Hell and Other Warm Places”, lays out her inspiring (though at times hair-raising) path of learning, her mother/daughter caregiving story. Holly coaches by phone, email, or in person, hourly or on retainer. Her workshops and support groups are primarily through The Lotus Foundation in Newburyport, MA. She co-developed a MindfulCaregiving radio series with Kim Linder of The Caregiver Hour, and enjoys being a guest on caregiver radio shows whenever possible.

Both MindfulCaregiving Coaching and TurningPoints Coaching are rooted in the theories of Action Language (Searles, Flores, and others). Life coaching insights, tools, and exercises are integrated with various principles of alternative healing, mind/body practices, and New Thought.
