Bio

Laurence Gonzales is a five time National Magazine Award finalist and winner of the 2001 and 2002 National Magazine Awards. For more than 30 years his work has appeared in such publications as Harper's, National Geographic Adventure, Smithsonian Air and Space, Men's Journal, just to name a few. As a screen writer he has written for MGM, Universal, Warner Brothers, and for Tom Hanks's Playtone motion picture company. He was one of several writers who created "From the Earth to the Moon," the HBO series, produced by Tom Hanks, which won an Emmy. He has won numerous other awards, including the Carl Sandburg Award and the Sigma Delta Chi Distinguished Service Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. In addition, he has published three novels and had two stage plays produced in Chicago and Kansas City, Missouri.
