Bio

Dr. Todd Kashdan is a clinical psychologist, scientist, and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at George Mason University.

He is the author of "Curious? Discover the Missing Ingredient to a Fulfilling Life" (William Morrow). He has been active in the positive psychology movement since 2000, when he taught one of the first college courses on the science of happiness. He currently teaches courses on abnormal psychology, mood and anxiety disorders, and the science of well-being. Currently, he is the associate editor of the Journal of Positive Psychology as well as the Journal of Personality.

He has received a series of honors recognizing his research and teaching. He is regularly invited to give talks and workshops to business executives, schools, parents, retirees, scholars, and health professionals such as therapists and life coaches. His research has been featured in several popular media outlets including a feature article in the New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, CBS, PBS, National Public Radio, Oprah Magazine, The Huffington Post, The Tavis Smiley Show, The Montel Williams Show, and Reader's Digest, among others.

To date, his clinical work and scholarly research has mostly focused on anxiety disorders, positive emotions, gratitude, purpose in life, how personal strengths operate in everyday life, social relationships, and how to foster and sustain happiness and meaning in life.
