Surviving Breast Cancer

Questions for Surviving Breast Cancer

The following questions were authorized by Dr. Bonner in May 2009.

Dr. Bonner's approach in her books are consistent with the intention of QuestionsForLiving and clearly demonstrates that the quality of one's life is determined by the quality of one's questions. The book, The 10 Best Questions for Surviving Breast Cancer, addresses three primary topics: "Talking with Your Medical Team", "Choosing Treatments", "Living Your Life - Now and Beyond Breast Cancer". QuestionsForLiving has created a question corresponding to each topic:

  • What are the best questions to ask myself and others in preparation for talking with my Medical Team?
  • What questions are important in choosing the best treatment?
  • What are the highest quality questions to ask myself and others in order to provide the best opportunity to live my life - now and beyond breast cancer?

Within each part of the book, Dr. Bonner provides 10 questions and a "magic question". QuestionsForLiving has listed at least one question from each part.

- How sure are you about my diagnosis of breast cancer? (p.8)

- What advice would you give to your mother (sister, wife) to help her choose between the different recommendations/diagnosis/treatments options I've received? (p.68)

- What, if any, viable alternatives to breast surgery do I have? Please describe my nonsurgical options. If none, why do you recommend breast surgery in my case? (p.74)

- What can I do to minimize the side effects and stay healthy during my chemotherapy? (p.108)

- How can I feel my best today? (p. 190)
